Regional Information
The Department of Human Service’s (DHS) Loddon Mallee Region (LMR) covers of 26% of the state of Victoria, from Gisborne in the south, Echuca is the north, Kyabram in the North East and Mildura in the far North West. The LMR is situated to the north of the Grampians Region, west of Hume Region and by the North-West Metropolitan Region in the south. LMR is also contained by the state borders of South Australia and New South Wales.
If you live in the Loddon Mallee Region, you will reside in one of ten Local Government shires (or Local Government Authorities - LGAs). Each shire is unique in its own special way and are part of the state of Victoria well known for the Murray River that is the northern-most boundary, the Goldfields of Central Victoria, the Great Dividing Range in the south, and the rich rural country side that spans the entire region, and which produces various types of fruits (and their by-products) and grain crops for local, national and international consumption.
